Bad Rear Shock Plates

The studs on my rear shock plates are bent and have no threads left on the ends. Is there anything to worry about if I drill them out and order new studs to put in? Thanks for the advice.

NAPA sells a replacement stud
I would weld it in place for good measure

I drilled mine out and used shoulder bolts from my work. worked really well and easy to do.
