I see so few 67-69 Barracuda restomods it amazes me since it’s such a beautiful body style. Is it considered blasphemy because of this?
The 2nd Gens seem to have so much to work with, like good looks, decent handling and plenty of power. Does anyone else think it would be cool to see more of these? If you have pics of your Barracuda restomod let’s see them! I found this pic online (not my car) and think it looks awesome!

Wow both you guys have for a ton of mods on these and an awesome job integrating the upgrades into the old Cudas! Mosleyme did you name it Gladiator?

It's good to see you posting again Al. Unfortunately no, I was in the process of converting it and another one came up locally that was less work to finish so, I went with that one. I still have the hood from you. :) Tell T we said hello!

I agree with both of you. I prefer the 67-69 Barracudas to the 70-74s, and 69 is my favorite year. I realize that may put me in the minority, but I like what I like.

5:00PM SPECIAL FEATURE SATURDAY MAIN EVENT! 1968 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA RESTOMOD HEMI This one originally sold on Mecum for 38K no reserve. I must have been asleep to miss that one.
Looks good at first glance .

The front end components including the K-Frame look suspect and don't get very good reviews.

Can't tell from pics how the transmission crossmember was modified for the 5-speed Kiesler trans.

Stance looks good but ride height is too high for my liking.

Also looks like it is carbureted.
If not using fuel injection I would have just installed a 340 or 360 based Stroker motor.

I don't much care for the height either. How much do you think was invested in the build? It is a beautiful restoration and even with a carburetor it is a nicely installed HEMI. These guys that bought it at no reserve for 38K didn't take long to add over 20K more to the asking price. I would have definitely took a chance on it if I wasn't sleeping...LOL

I would be in at 38K.

First order of business would be to install a HDK or RMS front suspension. These are the only guys I would trust with aftermarket rack and pinion based front suspension systems.

Second. Really go over the transmission mount mods for the keisler 5-speed as this is a critical structural mount.

The trans mount looks like there wasn't a lot of modification from original but it is hard to tell from the photo. I tried to find the original ad and the pictures so we could take a better look at what they did but could not find it. If I stumble onto it I'll post the pics. The Mustang Forums are giving the AJE tubular mounts good reviews. One guy has had the system in for 6 years trouble free. I was always suspect of the way it attaches to the original "frame" of the car. It looks a little "hokey" from the pictures but when you work in a welding and fab shop bolt on stuff often does.
