Where can I get some Spool Motor mounts for a DC K Frame? C-Body motor mounts? Can those be purchased over the counter? Are the mounts the same as the SB spool motor mounts?

I picked up a Direct Connection BB K-Frame. I figured it would be better to use a true BB K frame instead of BB swap motor mounts in a SB K frame.

The Direct Connection B-engine/A-body K-member, part number P4007935, was specified in Bulletin #39 to use production engine mounts, part numbers 3642814 and 3642815 with bolts, part number 6030203, and nuts, part number 6030478.

These production mounts were used with the 400 and 440 engines in 1973 - 1978 B-bodies, and 1974 - 1978 C-bodies. There were multiple versions of the mounts, but it just involved different durometer strength rubber inserts. The stronger inserts were typically used in fleet or heavier use applications. The different versions are identified by part number and/or paint marking. The mounts are left and right specific, but interchange within the same side.

The following lists describe the mount part numbers:
  • 3642814 - white, right
  • 3817124 - green, right
  • 3817116 - orange, right
  • 4001746 - no paint, right, released for Cordoba and Charger

  • 3642815 - white, left
  • 3817125 - green, left
  • 3817117 - orange, left
  • 4001747 - no paint, left, released for Cordoba and Charger
A pair of the left and right mounts were also available as Direct Connection/Mopar Performance part number P4120757.

The big block mounts differ from the small block mounts, but the bolts and nuts are the same. The big block mounts are taller and differ for the engine block mounting. The following images show the difference:

The following image shows NOS mounts, which were typically bare metal with a light metal preservative coating, with the white paint marking:

Small block mounts and inserts are available, but the big block mounts were not serviced as a complete assembly by most of the aftermarket. The inserts were and are available, although current production quality is typically poor. The inserts are the same between the mounts.

Good information.

So I think these are them, and would work?

Use a propane torch, heat the shell all the way around and have a big hammer and something that fits right inside the shell. When hot enough, the bushing will slide right out with a few hammer blows. PS-it smokes like hell when you're heating it up. Continue to heat the shell and scrap all of the rubber residue out. Use a little wire wheel or wire brush, get it nice and clean. Don't **** up the sleeve!
