IF I was thinking of replacing countertops I'd probably DIY poured in place concrete.

I've given up on many improvements I wanted to do due to an early retirement/disability as I'll be durned to break the bank.

I'd be going broke running my A/C if I lived on that durned hot hillside you live on.

I do everything myself.......The way I look at it, it's me making the big bucks by saving them. (A penny saved is a penny earned)

Buy the tools and learn how to use them.

Hell, even in one’s early 60’s…..

I used to do all of my own stunts as well, but in the past couple years I’ve started thinking more and more about my mortality, the things I’ve done, and the things I still want to do, and it just makes sense for me to farm-out some of the things I’m not proficient at in order to spend that same time doing the things that I want to do, and that make me happy.

Yup, you are right. I suppose that there are always exceptions......Old age definitely slows us down. I'm feeling it at 60.

Not home improvement but we just bought a fresh cut Frazier Fur yesterday. Probably 6.5 foot tall and not real big around. $175 + tax.

Benjamin Moore Aura is running a tick over 100/gal in my neck of the woods.

I have used BM paint before. You may disagree, but I have found that the better level of paint at Lowes has worked, covered and lasted just as well for me as BM (or Serwin Williams) for a lot less. Professional painters may use it, but I doubt if they pay retail.

Have you seen the "photos" they put on garage doors? Something that looks like an aircraft hanger or train coming out of a tunnel? Maybe you could get one of a "mansion" to wrap the house. Me, I'd do something the opposite just to tee the neighbors off...something like the Beverly Hillbillies wood house in the hill country.

With the todays price to have a bumper straightened and chromed, maybe a wrap would be smart!!!!! Chrome wrap over the dings and bends!!!
