Bill Miller aluminum rods

-
You do need to know about building high performance engines before pulling the trigger on aluminum rods, especially a used set and even more so, a cheap used set. For the price, you got what you paid for. Basically rebuildable cores. But saying that, there is a reason why race teams replace rods and throw the old ones out. Just sayin' The seller shouldn't be selling them and the buyer shouldn't have bought them if he was serious about building an aluminum rod motor.
...and they might not be. Like me and Garrett were talkin about. They act like shock absorbers and they get work hardened over time. Who knows how brittle they are? If you read up on fuel rods, they're changed out every 5-10 runs. I'll just stop right there. LOL

Lol, not surprised Rob. Ive had him on ignore for a while now due to this. In this case I hit "ignored content" and is well worth the click lol. Notice that ANYTHING he buys is rare/nos/ and usually a good deal. NOW, when he sells its in ambiguous/sketchy/faulty condition AT BEST.
Hoping for some resolution for op.
Yeah. I gotta update. The seller is still postin all kinda stuff for sale. lol

No response from him in my return email to him. Sad he won't man up and do the right thing. I was going by my machine shop later today but gonna have to wait until later this week. Also sent a second email to BME but still no response.

Puts me in mind of superdart426.

I don't know the seller but i purchased a new flaming river steering box from him for a very good price it arrived faster than i thought possible and was well packaged .

Might need to start a thread about who has had a bad deal from him....? No comments except for the bad dealings.

In an add on Nov 26, a FABO Gold Member claimed that he had a good set of rods for sale that I ended up purchasing. Turns out weren’t so good. So I am relisting them with a FULL DISCLOSURE:

Original listing stated:

“I got a good set of Bill Miller aluminum 426 rods standard length 20 passes on them” (His picture of all 8).

In PM I asked and he replied:

HE FLAT OUT LIED!

Turns out that 7 out of 8 rods are SEVERLY SCORED on the crank bore. If I had to guess, the owner lost oil pressure and spun a bunch of bearings. At any rate, they are NOT ready to use and seller knows he would still have them had he FULLY DISCLOSED the true condition of the rods.

So that's it? That's your response here? I tell you what, Michael, I'll do my best from here on out to make sure no one here buys from you ever again. Even if I have to post it RIGHT ON some of your for sale ads and it gets me in hot water. That's a damn site better than you screwing over any more members with any of your overpriced, misrepresented JUNK.

Lol, so new ones are $12-1800, so be thankful they were only $300.
Oh I hope the mods allow the pic of the dm exchange that @RedlineRed previously posted. Classic pass the buck bs lmao.

the response from the seller should tell everybody what they need to know about him.

from the initial exchange that was in the screen shot from earlier, seller was disingenuous at best.

y'all been warned. steer clear.

I had a set of those rods years ago that I fantasized about using in a killer build . The pin end was undrilled . I think I sold them for $100 .
