Hi,I was wondering if it is necessary to use a rust treatment like ospho or rust prep after blasting rusted areas on your car? I plan on epoxying afterwards. I have a 69 dart that had a vinyl top on it that was removed and left to rust,it's just surface rust and should blast pretty clean. Thanks

I don't know if it's necessary but why take the chance.

I have done it both ways and you can get rust popping back through paint if you dont treat. Be especially thorough around seams

Please don't tell me that you are going to sand blast the roof of your car, it will warp the crap out of it even if you do it lightly!

Blast the perimeter roof line about 2 or 3 inches, use DA on majority of panel itself.

Southernpolyurethanes has a self etching epoxy which I think is great. From what I remeber they say: bare metal, degrease / clean and then spray the epoxy.
