Bonneville Landspeed Racing - Let's Try a Thing.

Glad to hear everything is up to snuff. Guess getting it on this years insurance means paying the deductible once.
I have a decent idea of what to do and how to get by. Recovery over winter when it is cold in the garage anyway. Bonneville next fall. And, yes all deductibles and out if pockets are met.

Hope that all works out the way you've got it planned. Doing the PT is a pain but gives the greatest benefit to recovery. Well, besides rest and eating well. :)

I enjoy PT. My PT person is amazing and truly cares. She even plans to observe the next surgery to better understand what is all cut and done.

Of the PT's I've had, the woman are the best. The last guy I had for my shoulder was on par with them but he was restricted by insurance. What he did worked. One lady I had was for frozen shoulder. We did lot of movements and accupuncture. The best was when she said "this is going to hurt you more than it hurts me". As I'm focusing on what she is saying, she jams here thumb into my armpit. Yeah, it hurt but everything after that went much smoother and on the way to easier and more range of motion. Sorry for being long winded, your PT lady sounds truly head and shoulders above the rest.

Not much to report. I made up the fuel line protection done and painted. Will install it tomorrow. I havent heard from inspector for driveshaft loop, so I have an idea to make sure it it ok.

Been doing some small things. Got my front strut lowering plates drill/tapped/painted/reinstalled. Also, made up a driveahaft safety loop and installed. Checking boxes of things to finish up

Being I didnt get a reply as to the ok on my interpretation of the driveshaft loop, I doubled it and welded then 360 to each other. Way than enough, and now welded into the car. Looking at the rear bumper and the mods needed to clear the receiver hitch

I would pass that loop. 100%, but I'm not a tech inspector...just going off of what I've seen and been told by the local dude

Over the last couple days, I installed a bunch of rivnuts for the rear quarters, riveted in the tubs, made an inner rocker from the door back amd started messing with a floor extension where thr rear seat footwell would be out to the quarter panel. All on passenger side. Drivers side next

So, I am using rivnuts and stainless button screws to hold my rear quarters on. Makes working on stuff so much easier. Just have the rear lowers to do. Tubs are riveted in, so they can come iut easily. My thoughts were cleaning and maintenance, along with future changes. (4 link and air ride is the thought) Oh and I am NOT body work savy

That is quite a project also!
Yeah, I didn’t expect to be where I am when this started. Hard part of fixing the chassis/frame is done now and up to me to start putting it back together in my little work space. This SOB will be running on Road America in a year or two!

Racing? Like track days or full race car? If full race or any thoughts of a roll bar/cage, do it before the roof skin!! I wish I would have cut the roof off, but I did max effort instead.

I had my Demon at RA for a fall cruise a couple weeks ago.

Race car, I wish. Street car with a lot of track days and auto-x, hopefully. Thinking about a cage/hoop but need to decide soon before the roof goes on. Have a thread on febo looking for input.

Had NC Engine Builder put together a 470 hp 340 this spring to give myself a push to finish the rest of it , but some things we can’t control.

If you need any help on your effort, let me know and I’ll do what I can. Seems like you’re pretty capable, but I have some machining and welding capability as well.

That sounds very cool. Link to build? Definitely do the cage/roll bar before the roof skin. Sean seems like a very competent builder. Id love to buy his race hauler!

Thanks for the offer of help. I'll let you know. I do ok, but then haven't raced it yet either.

The engine build is here.

Really don't have much of a report going on the rest of it. Been away from it about two years due to life, but I'm trying to get some traction on it now and get all the metal fab and welding in off the chassis stiffeners done this winter. Got most of the US Car Tool stuff for it. My "workspace" is severely lacking in space so it isn't going to be easy.

Made a decision today. The scoop will be engine mounted and the hooded will be lift off around it like a pro stock

Car looks wild!
It will be interesting once there is a crappy paint job on it. I wonder if I will still like it.

Really need the windshield in soon so the CAD mod to the hood scoop can be done, then mounting, hood mounting, etc.

Then just waiting on you to come out and help finish up the wiring (read, gut and redo everything I did, lol)
