Brainstormin' 440 vs 5.9 ...

I have a set of the offset aluminum sm rockers for victor/Victor copy heads. I bought them cheap on a black friday sale. I have NOT done anything with them yet.
I'm gonna use the Victor's on a 522, but I'm planning on a fairly conservative cam, so gonna try the sm rockers. If run into any problems, I'll have to bite the bullet and get the $1200 rockers. If I need to do that, I might as well put a big cam in too.
i bought the same set of heads and rockers you did on black friday. I sold them before i tried them...

Today we went 4.60 at 161 at 3300ish pounds on a 8.5 radial. I’ll let you do the math on that one.

She'll be "as-is" for the first go-around. We'll develop a plan while she's in there, however, I don't want to miss Speedmaster's 40% off sale (if they do it) if they have something that is good for the build.
Deck the block and mill the heads and use some thin head gaskets. Blueprinted  Put a cam in it and send it.

Where did you run it today? Barona?
We’re in Vegas for SCSN.

Last qualifying pass for outlaw 8.5 we went 4.78 at 129 off the throttle at 300ft. Car drove left. We have a good tune up for eliminations.

getting some gaskets in the cart..... I'm excited to see what the 7.5 compression 440 runs... (or at least that's what they are say'n) .... 250 hp and a 16.9 1320 coming my way.... they say...

Got some gaskets coming this way (Summit/Jegs) ... along with a couple other things... I probably already have the gaskets, but just mak'n sure LOL

Are you taking the heads back off it now?
no, just got to go back to the truck oil pan. Going to send it as is for now... I want to see firsthand how big of a pig this heavy, insufficient hunk of history is.... especially with one rusty cylinder wall . lol
