Just wondering if this is a good idea or a waste of time. I am putting the front on the 340 this morning and was curious. Chain/gears are new.
This is just a street application.
Thanks for any input.

Thank you also to daredevil for the sweet fuel pump eccentric.

I have never heard of anybody putting break in lube on a timing chain.
I dont think it will hurt it just never heard of it.

I just install them. Add a little assembly lube on the tensioner pads if used. They get splashed pretty well.

soak it for a few minutes, add a dab or two of break in lube on the top and bottom gears.

Old Racers trick> Dip in STP Oil Treatment. Will stay on chain and sprokets and lube well until oil takes over.
