Since I bought this car 7 years ago Ive been threw 4 starters. Last time I put a mini starter in it and havent had a problem. That was over 3 years ago.

This morining I started the car to go to work and it make a strange grinding noise. It wasnt even 6 in the morning yet so I didnt even gie it a sceond thought. Went to leave work this after noon, cranked it over and theirs that grinding noise again. I knew what it was right away. Got home from work and let the car cool down. After dinner I crawled under the car, (no jack or stands at home) sure enough, loose. Then I took a good look.
Broken. Bolth bolts cam loose and from cranking the motor over it broke the bottom right of the starter. So now I need to buy another starter and pull the header  Maybe I should fix that exhaust leak thats been driving me nuts for weeks. Then I may aswell make Rory put my X pipe on too

The joy of old car

So who has the best price on Mini starters. So far the best Ive found is Mancini Racing for $120

I picked one up on eBay for around $75. Look around, you'll find one.

I didnt even think to check ebay. Tons of them from $80 and up.

Me to! It makes loud noises then there is a horrific odor! :pottytra:

my rearend leaks some nasty crap everyonce in awhile it stinks and makes me wanna :pukel: :D

Was it your starter mounting bolts that backed out ? I've had a couple of Mopars that did the same thing. The fix was to use a slightly longer bolt and place a lock washer and nut on the threads that protruded on the back side.
