I just bought a bargain 42RH and now realising why it wasn't quite such a bargain. The overdrive piston retainer has let go and damaged the low drum and intermediate shaft.

Sonnax do an oversize retainer that requires the drum to be machined out. Has anyone used these?
I know there are two versions of the drum - one with snap ring and washer, the other without.

Will parts from A518 fit and would they be an upgrade?

Any suggestions who can supply used retainer, drum and intermediate shaft and is willing to post to the UK?

Thank you.

I've had to replace that OD piston support for my last 2 rebuilds in a row, one each 46RE and A500.
Not crazy expensive. Id definitely replace the spray at the back of the case while I was at it. And does the damage to the drum extend past that bushing? Bushing kits are cheap and include all the bushings in the trans they also have separate "front half" and "back half" bushing kits.

Do you have a part number for the spray? I'm struggling to find anything. Is it good practise to replace all bushings when rebuilding or just those that show signs of wear?

Got the bushing kit from WIT transmission.
Transtar would have the same thing probably same part number
Don't have part number handy. Bag they came in is at a Friend's house where I'm doing the overhaul since my garage is so full up my workbench is buried
I'll be over there at least one night this week after work.
