I would use Mopar Performance intermediate shaft P3571071 and pay the extra money.

The MP hardened shaft and a standard oil pump is an excellent set up. Go with that!

Melling std pump is 70-75 psi. I don't see any need for the high psi spring kit?? But open to suggestions?
Any compatibility issues with new drive gear with a used (10k) solid flat tappet cam? (270S)

Seems to be okay now. I installed it with the oil pump this time a turned it over. I noticed a peice or two..cleaned them off and spun the motor by hand a half a dozen times and no new peice came off. Going to run it and check it after start up. There were a few burs on the gear i filed smooth. Does it look like its sitting in the block correctly?
