I know there are a few of you on this board who made your own caltrac bars. I'm about to start on mine and was wondering if you adjust the bellcrank with the weight on the wheels or off? When you measure for the pipe, should the weight be on the wheels? THANKS!
 
Yes, weight on the car. But I think you're getting too far down in the weeds right up front when it comes to measuring pipe stock.

Those measurements are totally arbitrary, depending on the design in terms what type of heim (sp.?) joint you employ, and the rest of the fabrication around them.

The adjustment range will not be more than a turn of the threads, which equates to a small fraction of an inch. Just design/measure to allow clearance around your mounting brackets. I did mine with one adjuster. Here's some pics:

I'll be out of pocket for a few days and can't respond right away...
 
You shouldn't have to unbolt it to adjust if you run one end with left hand threads.

That way you can preload your suspention if you have to.
