I have a problem I need a cam for the dart its a 383 bb but Ive heard that tappet cams as of lately have had problems with flat lobes I was thinking roller but cant find any thing budget friendly. I was wondering if there were any cams that are not as prone to flat spotting or a good roller cam & lifter kits? thanks shiifty

just run a good oil, like VR1 or brad penn etc, more ZDDP and other good stuff to keep that from happening...

My builder used Joe Gibbs break in oil. Told me to run it for a while when I put the engine in the car.

Go Roller, Yes it cost a bit but worth it. Roller cams put you in the power curve sooner and keep you there longer, then flat tappet cams. As for oil (I have a full Roller setup in my 340) I use Mobil 1 Full Syn and 2 Wix filters (remote mount filter), I use Mobil because I can get it anywhere! If I didn't use mobil I'd use Royal Purple. Also if you do go Roller, make sure you can the cam that has the Cast Iron gear on it (So you don't make the same dumbass mistake I made, but I lucked out and caught it before I put the cam in).
