Camshaft + converter for 318 w/302 heads

Why 273 crank? Stroke is same isnt it? Onlly dfference would be forged vs cast correct?
I haven't disassembled 318, I only plan on taking it down to block. Pistons and crank will be left alone if at all possible.

put the 302s on 318 with 273 crank an rockers, make a tuff lil motor!

My car is a NHRA Stock Eliminator, 1965 Barracuda 273, i run the stock domed pistons from CP pistons, stock crank, the 302 heads, stock afb carb. i have flowed many sets of 302 heads, and they are not all created equal.

forged is better stronger than cast!!

I agree but I was hoping to keep from doing a full teardown. Cast is good up to 300 hp at least?
I started a new build thread listing all my parts/pieces I have so hhopefully get steered on the right direction.
