carb drip still.

do i need to put loctite or teflon tape type stuff on the threads of the fuel inlet? cause it still drips. have to wait another week anyway, Walker sent me a bad part, needle and seat broke off the nut as soon as i started turning it with a wrench.... well ****.

any help is appreciated as always

Sealant is not needed. Something must be incorrect in the flare on the line. What carb are running?

im running a holley 1920, never had this problem before i rebuilt it though. could it be that the float is set to high? ive used the gasket on the needle and seat, didnt help, i guess it could be right now that the new part was not good, like i said broke as soon as i turned it.

i had a dual feed line do the same thing. had it apart numerous times to check for dire or anything atr that point.. its a flare and shouldn't need a sealant. a buddy told me to use teflon tape on the threads. i argued with him for an hour saying its a flare and the threads don't seal it.. i finally gave in and used some teflon tape on the threads just to shut him up and guess what. it didn't leak...lol only thing i can figure is maybe it lubed the threads just enough to get a little more on the connection. who knows...

Just went through the same thing with a holly and the holly fuel line ,both fittings leaked like fountain thought I was going to burn my garage down ,said forget holly's instructions and wrapped the fitting back from the flare so nothing can get into the carb problem solved I think the carb and fuel line are being made at seperate places

ok thanks, i have a new needle and seat already on the way, so when it gets here ill definitely use the teflon tape and hope that that works. i know that since it is flared it shouldnt need it but the reason i was asking is A) cause o the leak obviously but B) there was some white stuff around the threads of the old one so i was thinking that maybe thats what it was.

anyother thoughts on what could be wrong if the tape doesnt work?
