Sounds like a good idea.

i think i am going to start with the stock cam and see what she does. then when i get it going we can change the cam. i am going to go pick up the engine on thursday.

What is the stock engine? Do you have to buy it or pull it? If you do, there is (or was a couple weeks ago) a 5.2 at the lynnwood pick-n-pull. $176 out the door, they have a nice engine puller.
