Im sure some of yall have been to the Chiropractor. I've personally never been. What are some of the benefits that yall have experienced? I'm 30 and always feel old and stiff. Thinking about trying one out.
Not big on doctors myself after all they're just practicing ya know. I have an old chiro that i always go to but he's about retired. He's set up shop at his home and when i'm out of place i go to him. The doctors only want to give ya pills. I'm not on any pills at age 60 and never have been. Eat right and work your but off and you'll be fine. Oh i forgot the shot of Kesslers.

Pain is a nebulous thing and can be caused by any number of reasons. The first thing you need to do is diagnose the cause of the pain. Much common back pain is simply caused by weak/spasming muscles due to a variety of reasons, i.e. pulled muscle, poor mattress, etc. This can be reduced or eliminated by an exercise program, posture training, supportive mattress, etc.
Other causes of back pain are due to structural problems, such as collapsing discs pressing on nerve fibers, spinal spurs irritating nerves, damaged vertebrae, arthritis, etc. The source of the pain must be diagnosed.
A chiropractor goes through two years of training. A medical doctor has a minimum of four years and most continue with a specialty and/or sub-specialty and must have annual continuing medical education in their field. Neurosurgeons typically do not enter practice until they are in their 30s - that is a short, but intense career!
A chiropractor will usually be unable to diagnose a true medical problem, but their manipulations might alleviate a local spasming muscle pain. They will take poor-quality, full-spine x-rays and tell you that your spine is "out of alignment." Enerybody has a spine "out of alignment." Again, you really want to have the problem diagnosed because some maladies are progressive in nature, such as collapsing discs and spur growth.
If the problem is simply muscle strain/spasms, a physical therapist or good massage therapist could do the same treatment for much less money. Many chiropractors now employ PTs and/or MTs to do the periodic manipulations and will charge you for that plus his 2 minute "evaluation."
I used to go to the chiro about once a week for a slipped disc at L5 in my lower back. About 15 years ago I bought an inversion table and haven't been back to the chiro since then. Use it every couple of days whenever I feel it getting tight. Takes about 20 minutes and I am good to go.
find a good beginners yoga class nearby. Stick with it and i guarantee, within 6 months your aches and pains will be gone.
