Clean 65 Valiant on CL in Portland, OR - not mine

Saw this while cruising CL this morning. Looks like it's really clean but for the dent by the gas cap.

That is how to buy an old car. Nice original condition. The price might seem steep up front, but you would be money ahead.

It’s an Oregon thing. I believe there supposed to be a certain mileage you can drive a year.

Why, oh why, would you turn a car than clean into a race car? There are many more in worse shape, or without titles, etc. for that use. I say keep it original, and enjoy the h*ll out of it!!

Not in CA..."...In addition to the regular renewal fee for the vehicle for which the $25 plates (Historic vehicle #x ) are authorized, the applicant for a renewal of the plates shall be charged an additional fee of ten dollars ($10)..." So they zing you another $10 on top of annual registration. Historic vehicle registered cars are "a vehicle is of historic interest if it is collected, restored, maintained, and operated by a collector or hobbyist principally for purposes of exhibition and historic vehicle club activities"..Hey officer, I'm driving to a car show!

This is a nice deal in WA, which is where this one is registered. Once your car is 25 years old or more, you buy these one-time plates and never have to pay annual tag fees again. They aren't all that expensive either, maybe $75 or so IIRC.

Here in screwem Okla. , u have to buy the regular tag , and then pay for the specialized tag of ur choice every year.
