I am in the process of getting the 73 dart back on the road. Starting out by installing a new urethane bushing kit in the front end. I got side tracked when I saw all of the leaves and pine needles in the drain holes of the cowl. I started washing it from the cowl and immediatly clogged the drain holes on the side and ran onto the floor boards. No big deal the car is gutted right now anyway I just pulled the plugs. I bet I sprayed 50 gallons of water and removed 10 pounds of dirt and leaves. I took a while slowly cleaning out the drain holes.

Just to let you guys know your cowl might be in the same shape and the leaves and dirt just traps moisture.

Do you have a picture of which drain plugs you removed? Everytime I spray water into my cowl water ends up on my driver side floor....might be my problem too

Hey 74Prostreet, Yeah they do collect some stuff. I remember my first dart, i'm out on the highway at about 70 mph and opened the vent box. Big mistake. LOL

I just did that last week with the Demon I bought. Opened up the vent and all those leaves blew right up my shorts!! Talk about uncomfortable.

No pictures but if you look on each end of your cowl where it meets your fenders there are 3 drain holes (that have no plugs) where the water should drain. They get plugged pretty easy. I would look at yours and spray them out.
