Is there a good cleaner that is safe to use on original headliners?? I am trying to get 35+ years of Oklahoma dust out of my headliner. The headliner is still in really nice shape and is not brittle or dry rotted at all.

I do know strong chemicals like windex will accelerate thread rot. That has to be there at some degree due to its' age. I suggest a mild hand soap or creme hand cleaner like gojo and water solution. Just a sponge, no hard brushing. There is insulation above the vynil. Damp sponging will dry. Wet washing may mildew. Good luck

I have been putting off cleaning it because I keep thinking anything that I put on it will turn the dust to mud and then I will have a really big mess! So I am trying to firgure out a plan of attack....
