What are the bads of the cone type sure grip? Are they good enough for a basic cruiser. Will I regret putting it in with new gears and bearings. Thanks for any help.8)
I've run both and for your average everyday mild to medium cruiser I wouldn't get worried about the cone type. Just make sure you add that little bottle of slippery stuff (friction modifier) with whatever oil you put in the rearend.
I have one in my dart now and it's condition is unknown. I beat on it regularly and it doesn't make any noise. I think like the others, they are fine for general HP street use.
I have a clutch type that I am going to rebuild and use 3.91 gears once I get my stroker built for some serious flogging!!
