72 Demon - Originally a single exhaust car, but converted to duals at some point in it's life.
I cannot find the
correct dual exhaust hangers / set up for the tailpipes. Maybe what's on my car now are not factory correct...and they've been cut and are unusable anyway.
There are two, by the trunk pan, that resemble a leathery strap part to them.
I purchased a couple of NOS ones off ebay, but they must be for single exhaust cars maybe...The leathery straps are wider than what's on my car, and the u bolt is way smaller than my 2 1/4" tailpipes.
Also, and this may just be an aftermarket issue, but the driverside bracket welded to the floor pan, doesn't seem like it's going to line up to the backside muffler/pipe...unless the hanger has A LOT of play / range.

I think that the OEM tail pipes were 1 7/8.

Are you using an OEM exhaust system? If not, there will be discrepancies with fit and feel......Or so I've experienced in the past.

It's an aftermarket exhaust kit i bought from someone that had it on their Demon....only they had relocated leaf springs so I can't use the pipes from muffler back...

You may just have to figure out what works in this case.......You can have extensions made up at your local exhaust shop to put those mufflers where they need to be....Maybe time to get creative. I'm almost there myself. I'll be referencing your thread no doubt as I've done it in the past.

There is a bolt on bracket for the passenger side of the car that matches the welded on one on the drivers side. Then you just use universal hangers. The bracket utilizes the three hole pictured on this body. There will be three dimples on your car that you would drill for the bracket. There is a plate behind the rear seat with three studs that holds the bracket on the exterior.

If I wasn't going for originality, I would just use universals. These may work fine. They make them with a longer perforated strap if needed.

I have a 2.5" TTI system. I was using their giant muffler clamps but they attach to the rear seat belt bolts. When I re-install the system, I'll either have a rod welded to the pipe below the factory hanger mounts or I'll use something like this from Napa

Someone here selling some real heavy duty ones here.
[FOR SALE] - TTI Exhaust hangers
I copied the hanger bracket on the drivers side and made the inside under seat bracket for my 68 Dart. Not perfect but once undercoated look fine. There are 3 dimples where the floor bracket holes can be drilled. Sorry this is all I have for pics.
