Cutting Clay Septic Tank Line

If its concrete that is over it is it a driveway ?If that's case was the concrete cracked? Do you think the weight of vehicles is what damaged the pipe? Or is it a patio type deal?

Nope it's off the back side of the house where there is zero traffic. I believe this whole issue occurred because I had a stoppage and hired some bozo plumber who used a snake on my lines without using any finesse. He unplugged the stoppage by basically breaking my line. Let me take a pic of what I'm talking about so you can see for yourself. Check back ASAP.

What type of a bung do you have in the tank? In most cases you can use a rubber gasket in the bung,if so you dont need concrete/mortar to make a seal.

Check out the line I may have to remove.

Sorry.... watching college football.

Oh boy I see what you're saying now. I really dont see how a snake would do anymore damage if it is pushed through cleanly. If you're worried about a snake doing damage to the pipe then the pipe is on its last legs anyways. See what Im saying?

I see what you're saying man. If the pipe does indeed go tomorrow while I snake it then I just take that chunk out and remove the pipe? It seems like it's going to be a real pain in the rear getting that pipe out from the tank.

As long as you know where the pipe goes into the tank (so not to damage the tank) then you can dig with a pick, break it up with a sledge hammer etc... to get the old pipe out of the way. I mean it will be some work involved if mechanical equipment is not used. How much would you have dig up?

Check it out. My foot is near the edge of the tank with the line in view.

There is an item called a drain king. It is basically a long rubber think that you use a garden hose with. It inflates in the pipe and seals itself and uses water pressure to open the line. It is wothless with tree roots. The are other companies that make the same thing under different names. This thing works great and works better than my power snake.
