Probably looking at about 2800 with the additional grunt of the 440...
If there are ever plans to add boost to the motorhome 440, that cam (112LSA, 241@.050) and template porting the heads would probably have the track tech guys telling Tim to turn down the boost or add some more safety hardware. If I was in the market for a camshaft, I'd slurp that up
If that happens, I vote you put a big shot plate system on it and leave the nitrous and fuel jets out for it's final pass. And by the way, I'm not joking one bit. If this goes 16.9's or slower (on a good pass, that's all she has in her), I will allow my wife to smack it with a sludge hammer and I will video it and post it.
are you sure the RV 440 will twist harder than the 5.9 ??? I'm not .. LOLProbably looking at about 2800 with the additional grunt of the 440...
No. "N" - "O" LOLYou going nitrous? Change me to “blows up on first pass.”
Fixed !Elmo65 is now Elmo.65. You had me down for 15.99.
There's going to be some torque happening with that broomstick between 2500 and 3K...are you sure the RV 440 will twist harder than the 5.9 ??? I'm not .. LOL
That will show up in the 60 ft. It's got to beat the 1.78 that the 5.9 cut!!There's going to be some torque happening with that broomstick between 2500 and 3K...
So it's already claimed the life of one transmission. Brute power. lolNot the truck, the RV440 LOL.
Let me say this: I have more confidence in it running a 13.0 than I do a 16.9. I don't think it's going to run either. The only thing I know of the engine as to how it runs was when I put it in the Magnum. It idled well, and revved fine, but I couldn't do any testing because the transmission was bad.
That’s where it’s going to do better with a 3.91. I think it may be testing the limits of the traction with the 4.30s.That will show up in the 60 ft. It's got to beat the 1.78 that the 5.9 cut!!
It's going to hook up. It's got slicks. 3.91's may be better for the RPM of the 440 ... or 3.23 for that matterThat’s where it’s going to do better with a 3.91. I think it may be testing the limits of the traction with the 4.30s.

Last thread went about 45 pages on point... I was hoping this one would till it makes a pass...How has this new thread not been derailed yet?

I have 3.23's, 3.91's, and the 4.30's (as of now). Tires are 29"I think you’ll need the 3.23s not enough rpm (maybe with the tall tire) for a 3.91 in my opinion
After looking back at IQ52’s thread on low compression 440 testing, I took note of the B/RBmagnum spec camshaft that he installed to establish the baseline. I’m inclined to think that the R/V broomstick is going to put the output closer to the 300hp, but probably a little less. It’s possible that it may run its best with a 3.23 gear. |
Probably just going to pick a gear that seems fitting when I drive it and roll with it.wish you had 3.55-3.73 available lol. I’d be curious to see how it does with the 3.23/3.91.
With the 14x32 slicks you'll want the 4.30's.Probably just going to pick a gear that seems fitting when I drive it and roll with it.
5.13sWith the 14x32 slicks you'll want the 4.30's.![]()
You must know of some in my area cheap?? REAL Cheap???? On rims???With the 14x32 slicks you'll want the 4.30's.![]()
I forgot to mention the low first gear. lol5.13s
