I’ve been reading all this. I think maybe you might get it to wind in the lower gears but I don’t think you’ll ever get it in high gear in a quarter mile. You’re running a four speed right? No granny correct?
 
I’m sorry I thought you were running a standard. I must’ve missed that in the first post. That’s a good deal. The ET might be faster. I’m still gonna stay where I was at though. 15.99@89MPH

It's a 1970 F100 short bed. 3820 without me in it. Low compression 460, D3 heads with a good valve job and light porting. 800 Holley with an RPM and 1 3/4" headers. Cam is 211/223 at .050, .484/510 lift. Stock converter with 3.25's out back. Runs pretty good for what it is. I've never had it on a dragstrip.

Nice! My brother had a mid 70's Ford with a 460, and it was fast! All stock too. I say it's time to get 'er to a track !!

I still need to get the gas tank out from behind the seat. I've been told they won't allow it at Sears Point.
I don't think there's ever been a case reported of something bad happening to a gas tank behind the seat. Of all the traffic accidents.... hmmm.. I could be wrong though

I’ve passed tech at Tucson dragway and Pomona recently with my fuel tank right behind the seat. No one has said a word about it.
