D4B intake for early 273 heads?

-
I think the DB4B was made with small ports for a 318/273-but I think it is for the 66 later heads- Others can tell you for sure. If you don't get an answer I have one in the garage and can check for you.

Way too small for the 340. This manifold was designed for the 273/318 and has the small ports. Get the LD340, same manifold only with the bigger runners and ports.

D4B = 1964-65 273 small ports/ 5/16ths intake bolts

LD4B = 1966-newer273 / "LA" 318 small ports/3/8ths intake bolts

LD340 340/360,larger intake ports.

See this thread too.

Yes, this what I've been told. I thought that somebody might be interested in this intake on ebay for there early 273 heads.

I would think that the early closed chambered 273 heads ported with the 1.88 intakes and 1.60 exhaust valves on a 273 or 318 would be killer little headed motor. Then having an aluminum intake that bolted to it would just be plain neet, an old school look to boot.

1.88 valves will hit the 273 block, unless bored .030 over/and or notched.
is what I have been told.

On a 318 1.88 valves are not a problem,
and on a 318, the # 302 heads are a good upgrade; if you don't want to spend the extra money, to go with "Magnum" new style.

Did not know about the notching on the 273, kind would make since with the 3.63(?) bore. As for the 302 heads, ya I've heard good things about those heads. I also remeber that MP was selling 318 heads with the 360 valves and were a 55 horse power gain on a 318. Wether they were the 302 casting, not sure. But those that were wanting to keep with stock heads and have closed chambered heads for quench and they were laying around why not use them.

Just a couple friendly suggestions...notice whether a thread is recent...this one is like 5 years old so the part you're interested in is long gone. Also you'll want to edit your post to remove your phone number, it makes the site a target for spam.
