I am working on a 96 dakota that had an 8.25 axle.
I have an 03 dakota 9.25 axle installed.

The driveshaft from the 96 fits perfectly. However, the univeral joint connection.
The 03 uses the flange.
Is there a conversion u joint to fit the 96 yoke to the 03 flange?

Otherwise i will convert the 96 driveshaft and weld the 03' yoke

Any driveshaft shop should be able to fix you up. Just take both drive shafts with you and tell them what you're trying to do. They will need to know the drive shaft length??

About 14 years ago, I looked on the Dana website and there was a chart where you could put in universal joint measurements from driveshaft and then from pinion flange to find the combo u-joint you need.

For future searches.

Moog" print catalog, the joint you need should be a 458, which is a combination of these numbers 316 ('96) & 354 ('03).
Saves alot of time and cash.
Spicer number for the 458 is 5-7437X,
