Does anyone have a decent aftermarket damper for a 273 laying around?
I'll be spinning it kinda high so I'm looking for one that's ok for drag racing.

Any internally balanced small block balancer will work. The difference in some of them is the offset dimensions for your pulleys.

For safety's sake, go buy a new aftermarket performance one from Fluid Damper or the like.
This is one thing to not cheap out on if the engine will see lots of high revs...

Does anyone even make one with the timing marks in the pre-1970 location? Or are you using the newer accessory drives?

Those fluidampers seem heavy but it misleading as the donut doesn't really factor into the rotating mass. Also watch for pulley alignment if the face is not scalloped where the pulley mounts. Many early ones were flat and caused about a 1/4 inch pulley misalignment

I wouldn’t know, to be honest. I’ll slap some tape on it if it doesn’t line up.
Thanks for alerting me to this possible issue!
