David Vizard / Uncle Tony...Small block Infos ?

I’m tired of watching car repair shows . I still watch Rocket Restoration, Rare Classic cars and history and Steve Dulcich but most of the others are SO slow ( Nicks Garage ) or they purposely do things half *** ( Frieberger) just to appeal to back yard monkeys. Sometimes to the point where it would have been easier and cheaper to do it right ! Dulcich just seems to be a great person and has a ton of knowledge. They made him the goofball on Engine Masters but you could tell he had way more knowledge then Frieberger.
I like Dulcich but sometimes he comes off like he did serious drugs in his youth… but he does know his Mopars.

It's what you know, not how.
No one learns in Isolation, your knowledge is built off our ancestors, obviously practical knowledge is important but if you learn the wrong lessons from it like you guy's say UTG has or Nick or even DV etc.., you can do both, in one afternoon you can see more dyno data and or track data than most wouldn't be able to in a life time in previous eras
and be able to hear from top builders what they know and do. Even the purpose of this site is to mainly share knowledge, instead of a video it's just in text.

He's definitely an odd guy, they feared he wouldn't come across well when they started putting him into video's, they were surprise people took to him.

and what happens when whatever you're working on has an issue that wasn't in the book you read?

the how matters because that's the path you take to get to the what.

Truly spoken as someone with zero self taught experience. Are you AJ on a different account?

Like everyone else I figure it out, I have been working on cars since I was 10, so 42 years.

Funny how people imply I just regurgitate what I read/watch but most of my arguments happen cause I question the status quo, my conclusions aren't the standard narrative that's in the books and on web.

I won't imply it. Post up some of your projects. Current projects you're actually working on. We'll have to consider you to be the poser AJ is if you don't.

You don't know me, yes I have less experience then some of you and more than others, but it's far from zero.

I bet most of your knowledge isn't 100% self taught, were you raised by yourself received zero input from others ?
You reinvented everything from scratch ?

i haven't seen anything to the contrary.

wild assumptions and broad strokes of "what if's" are not "questioning the status quo". you're not a maverick, forging a new path.

not a single "conclusion" you've put forth has caused me pause or to rethink my approach to engine building. you're basically bench racing till you put up the numbers. which is fine... but don't paint it as anything more than that.

Of course not, nor did I learn everything all by myself. But I REGULARLY post the projects I'm working on. I can post five or six......maybe more projects I've worked on in the last 12 months. Some of yall just talk outta books and such. Post numbers from slide rules and calculators. Post some recent experience from projects. Then I'll say you got some street cred.

I have a functioning car, am I suppose to tear it apart to make you happy lol, If I do something to it I'll document it just for you :)

I've never seen it. I've never seen you post up anything you've ever done to it. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I'm just stating facts as I see them. And yeah, it'd be purdy cool to actually see you doing something. Me and @junkyardhero caint be the only two.

That good but some of us don't do as much, I got two projects, my 68 Valiant and a 80 Bronco, but got a lot of other sh#t to get done before I can fix up the bronco hopefully next year I can start back on it.

There is nothing wrong with the guy, he is just not as comfortable on camera as some other people are.
Some people are naturally awkward. I met Steve at Carlisle in July...

Talking face to face, he spoke as anyone else does.
Maybe on camera he has a bit of hesitation now and then....have YOU ever tried to act normal while cameras are running on you? Have you any experience at public speaking? It can be hard to relax and remember what you planned to say. Sometimes your mind goes blank from anxiety. It is easy to be critical if you've never experienced it.

I get that. But what I see with you......and AJ both is two people talking more numbers, theory, calculations, formulas and such.......book experience than anyone on here with ZERO real world experience to show for a thing that I've seen. Nothing. Not. One. Thing. That speaks pretty loudly to me. It wouldn't be so glaring if, 1) you'd not preach your positions so loudly or 2) you actually showed some PROOF of you applying them on a current project you're working on. Neither of you have and as far as AJ is concerned, he's out and out refused to. I don't even think he owns his precious Barracuda anymore, and quite frankly, I suspect his whole persona is total bullshit. It's not hard to see through. Anyone can find all of the numbers and formulas he spouts on the internet and yet, people think he's a genius. You're following right along in his footsteps. So until I see some proof of anything you're both posers.

He even looks like he kinda ain't crazy about his picture being taken. Some people are just like that.

Wasn't trying to change your mind or how you build things, I'm just trying to help people that don't understand exactly what they need to build a mild whatever engine.

How? By book articles, formulas, slide rules and theory? Those are things anyone has access to. I'm just trying to figure out what real experience you have is all. You've posted nothing that I've seen.

He said it purdy good. ^^^^^^

help them how? you haven't done the work!

a doctor once told me about working in a hospital and they had a process of training when doing procedures for new doctors fresh out of med school.

watch one. do one. teach one.

you're over here with: read one. [skips ahead] teach one.

you're just regurgitating information and "possibilities, probabilities, et al". while it is indeed information, and that's great that it's all collated here in one place, you can't speak from a position of having done the work.

....and as Obama would say......."Let me be clear" LMAO. This ain't about givin you a hard time. You're one of my favorite people on here. I mean that. And I also believe you when you say you've built projects. But put up or shut up as they say. I just want you as "one of the crowd" as it may. You know, one of the guys......camaraderie and all that. I gave up on Aj a long time ago. lol
