I can see that. Not submitting to their prevailing labor rate.Or the insurance and shop couldn't agree on charges. I am seeing that alot also.
All insurance companies will take care of you as long as you have full coverage insurance.
I've never heard of any insurance company and repair shop haggle over what the insurance company will pay.
That right there is EXACTLY why you NEVER speak with the "other" guy's insurance company. They are looking for ways to trip you up so they can blame you. This is wrong. Total misinformation. You have many factors at play here. First off read your policies. Cheap doesn't mean coverage. Uninsured motorist applies to just that. His insurance may not pay for your repairs for a ton of reasons. Conflicting stories, recorded statements play a part. Also if the other companies insured is uncooperative it can become difficult as there is a process legally that insurance companies must follow before approving or denying on an insureds behalf
That's right. It's called an amendment when the body shop needs to add more repair to the insurance company's estimate. If it was caused by the accident, they are bound by law to add it in most instances.I have never experienced this. It is the body shops responsibility to get paid by the insurance company for any supplemental repairs after approval to repair.
If I had my way, I'd strap you to a table Frankenstein style, take a sharp knife and cut the outer skin layer off your lips, sew your mouth shut and let it grow together. Then do the same with your fingers. The word idiot doesn't even begin to describe you. No wonder I put you on ignore. All insurance companies will take care of you as long as you have full coverage insurance. From personal experience, the insurance companies have always approved the lowest bid, sure you can go elsewhere but you will be responsible for the balance. I've never heard of any insurance company and repair shop haggle over what the insurance company will pay. Not to say that yours didn't.
We call it "steering"You DO NOT have to use any shop suggested by state farm. Go to a shop YOU choose and have them deal with the "farm".
Ok will do!The person at the repair facility is an estimator. Adjusters work for insurance companies and ya, that things toast. Do your homework and try to find one for sale that is in similar condition to your Trailblazer before the wreck. That will let you know what to except for a payout. Total losses rarely benefit anyone other than salvage companies.
I talked it over with my insurance today and told them what was going on as well as mentioned them trying to force me to use there shop. They told me it is against the law under California code 758.5 to where they can’t force me to use there shop and that I have every right to use another shop. You are in California. Maybe you do have a right to take your car where you want in most states, but State Farm is going to do what the State Insurance Department lets them do. If the Insurance Department lets them dictate the shop, then you could be out of luck.
