Deep 904 transmission pan?

Thanks Tom but I'm good. Start a sale thread. Somebody will want it.

I have never been able to get a chrome plated pan to stop leaking.
Tried everything, even sanding the chrome off.
A cast pan is the way to go. Never had one leak.

Yep, The newer model overdrives work great. Not too deep and an extra quart.
The drain plug is a plus as well.

do not use a chrome pan- ever - chrome does not transmit/ radiate heat very well at all. especially a polished pan
rough aluminum painted with a thin flat black is best flat black steel pan is ok but no thick black gloss paint coating
if you do have chrome Hylomar helps
and do Not use grade 8 bolts
they have no stretch at recommended torque and if you torque them to grade 8 specs you will warp your steel pan and squeeze out the gasket
no silicone ever

I have changed filters on transmissions with siliconed pans,that is to say100% RTV and no other gasket. Crazy time-consuming to clean thatchit all off, but it wasn't leaking.
