Yep, The newer model overdrives work great. Not too deep and an extra quart.
The drain plug is a plus as well.

do not use a chrome pan- ever - chrome does not transmit/ radiate heat very well at all. especially a polished pan
rough aluminum painted with a thin flat black is best flat black steel pan is ok but no thick black gloss paint coating
if you do have chrome Hylomar helps
and do Not use grade 8 bolts
they have no stretch at recommended torque and if you torque them to grade 8 specs you will warp your steel pan and squeeze out the gasket
no silicone ever

I have changed filters on transmissions with siliconed pans,that is to say100% RTV and no other gasket. Crazy time-consuming to clean thatchit all off, but it wasn't leaking.

I don't think they have that one available any more. I like this one on Summit's website. Deep with a drain plug, filter, gasket, extension, and hardware.

The one i linked shows avail up here. Never heard of Crown before, so was hoping for feedback. $50 in Canuck bucks, shipped too.

Warning: the A500 pan by Dorman is deep and then has a drain plug that is another 1/2 inch closer to the ground. The pan is well behind the front wheels and just one too tall parking lot speed bump hit my plug hard enough to crack the pan in front of the plug. I ended up welding the Dorman plug hole up and installing a generic drain plug kit on the side of the pan. It won't drain the pan 100% but more than enough to promote a mess free filter change. I see from the picture in post #11 that the Crown pan has a "tented" drain plug like the old MP deep pans...

I have an aluminum B&M on my Polara but it hangs down pretty low. I might look for one like you got. Extra capacity, a drain plug and it won't get destroyed. LOL
Steve, is that a deep 904 pan or a pan for an A500? Part #?

I thought the price was great too! It is metal, I thought it may have been plastic at that price.

The extra guts in the main trans body for an A500 hang out of the bottom of the trans where a 904 Valve body is, so the pan contains all that stuff, but the perimeter of the pan and case is exactly the same as a 904.
