Wanting to know how snug the pin is supposed to be when using Delrin bushings in the lower control arm, mine seem to have a slight wobble to them. The arms are not installed yet on the car, so I want to be sure before I install if I have to fix the problem.
The bushing itself is very snug.

Are you trying to reuse the original pins? Where did you buy the bushings from?

There can’t be any wobble or noticeable end play in the pivot pin.

The pivot pin can be a slip fit and it can be loose enough to be assembled by hand, but that’s as loose as it should be. If there’s any detectable play you need a larger diameter pin.

Are you using the pivot pins from Bergman or trying to reuse an original?

I bought the lower control arms from a member here, the pins look like originals but the bushings look new, not sure what brand

For 149, I think my best bet would be to just get them new, the bushings and pins from Bergman. Upon closer inspection the bushings look to be used and looks like they have regular grease on them. I'm not sure, but I don't think Delrin bushings are supposed to be greased.

For all the work it takes to get the LCA's in and out, then a front end alignment; no way would I re-use bushing/pins! Get a new delrin bushing/pin kit from Peter and be done with it. I just did my entire front end using Peter's goodies. I also used the prothane white "grease" to lube things. My lower bushings were so bad that I just popped them out with a screwdriver and they came out whole! I used a large tap to get the old shell out. The new bushing went right in using my press then the pin went in.

I agree, I've already decided to get the kit from Bergmans. As for taking the old control arms off, I don't have to do that, I'm replacing everything onto a BB K-frame and just have to remove the old one with the old lowers still attached. I'm upgrading to 73+ disc brakes and already have all the parts for that. I do need to know if the Delrin bushings get greased and with what if they do.

I put a little of that prothane grease in the LCA before I pressed the bushing in. I then greased up the pin before pressing that in too. Went in easily.

My @BergmanAutoCraft Delrin pins and bushing set went in easy. I was able to tap the bushings into the arms with a rubber hammer. I could START the pins in the bushings in by hand maybe a 32th of an inch, then I had to use the press. They pressed in easy, but it's still a press fit with ZERO wobble. Don't use what you have. It ain't right.

Good. I believe you'll be happy. Peter is a class act.

Bergman sends an instruction sheet with the delrin bushing pin kit at least he did when I bought mine earlier this year

Hey Elmer, Should a got them from me !!
Just joking ! But I have everything here in the shop to re-rebuild them.
The delrin bushings have to use their own pin. No wobble.
You know where I live.

@RAT ROD AL I may take you up on that if you're willing to put em in for me. I'll even get the pin and bushings from you too. I'm heading up to Maryland for thanksgiving and can drop them off the Wednesday before thanksgiving or the Sunday after thanksgiving.
