Removed the crank and windage tray from my "Hodgepodge" 340 this weekend. Did not find any washers under the main cap bolts. Is that normal? Thank you.

FWIW The 70 340 I took apart had the washers under the main cap bolts .

I have never seen any that were factory. Not that that means a thing.

I don't ever remember seeing washers under any main bolts

Yeah. I seem to remember hardened washers too. You wouldn't want to crank down a hardened bolt onto a cast cap. But that was on a guaranteed motor that had been apart. My studded 400 had ARP washers as well as my 360 that had Pioneer 180k main bolts. What would it hurt?

no washers from the factory...

If you find washers...someone else has handled your crank..
