Hey guys,

I did my research and tried to answer my own question first, but had no luck. I am curious to the differences in the re-enforced area where the front of the strut rod mounts to the K-frame. I circled the area in the pictures below to show what I am talking about...

The first picture shows the style I usually see. The sides seem to flair out a bit.

The two pictures below show the style I recently have come across. this style is larger, and flush mounted.

I hope that someone can shed some light on the reasoning for the difference. Did they make the change after a certain year? My apologies if I have used another member's photos, I just did a search on Yahoo to find what I needed.

Thanks!

dont think there is a difference.....ive only seen the ones in the first pic...

They used both types. I'm sure there's a year cutoff, but I don't know what it is. I've probably had 30 spool k-members in my hands over the years to make Direct Connection k-members. I never kept track of what year car they came out of and those differences. I don't think one is superior to the other.

Could you elaborate on this?

I just sent my K off to Dick Ross and Firm Feel and other than a slightly longer than promised return time, couldn't be happier. It was worth the wait.
