disc brake swap turn full resto

-
Thanks but yours is way ahead of mine or were sitting pretty close except what youve got under the hood. Hoping next year to have the 360 in it. Ive got over 450 hours into it in the last 6 months and am very happy with the progress being made. Dan is doing an amazing job on the body work and were both busting *** and staying busy. Out of the four mopar A bodies ive owned Ive got less than 24 hours of drive time combined so you can imagin how bad I want to drive the wheels off this one. Sub frame connectors, ss springs, disc brakes and a 1 1/8" sway bar in the front I cant wait to see how she handles. I plan to upgrade the torsion bars when I take it to the alignment shop.

Lol yes I think I have less hours of driving under 20. Still have to do the inner fenders, fenders, front sway bar, align the doors, get rear axles for 9 inch, get new rear springs, sand down whole car, upgrade steering linkage to C body stuff, upgrade ignition still have points, have another 383hp motor gonna try and get done over the winter. Wanna get it stroked but not sure yet. And aluminum heads, and a nice oil pan. Still didn't get headliner yet or the sweeps, and a aluminum radiator. That's. All I need to do. Lol

I'm going to wait to install the front sway bar till after its aligned. I just removed my front bumper mounts to clean and paint at work tonight if I have time.

Can't do much here been raining. I got the mopar hp torsion bars.i think 1.00, what sway bar are you using?

We only had a half day today but we got all the inside side sanded along with most of the exterior.

just for the sake of mentioning... another member recently upgraded his steering linkage to C-body diameters and found those parts are also longer. He couldn't get the a-body toe setting without trimming the part lengths. This example may have been first gen A though so...
grain of salt and all that. Good luck

You might want to consider a catalized spot putty, That old red Nitrostan will shrink and might bite you in the *** later on down the road. Just my $.02. Keep up the good work.

Will it shrink even after its dried because its going to be 4 days before its sanded. I have read that it has up to a 50% shrink rate.

Almost Ready for primer. I just that my brother moved up to Gig Harbor is that close to you? I don't speak to him also have brother in Alaska.

Yes it will, Its Laquer base. You can go out now and wipe it off with a rag with thinner on it.

Ill have a talk with my body guy on Monday. Any specific brand of spot putty you recommended?

All the filler and body stuff we have been using is evercoat. I'm not sure what spot putty he used (he told me it wasn't cheap, hasn't had a problem with it, and is the only product he uses).

Well we were hoping to paint the car today but we had a nasty set back. When we were installing the trunk lid we went to close it to check alignment and one of the square trunk rod guide block grenaded. When the block went it put a dent in the dutchmans panel. Lucky enough I had a spair block but had to drive 30 mins to get it and when the spring rod unloaded it damaged the rod location so I had to make a reinforcement plate.

Dan painted the interior, trunk, and front end parts at 10pm last night so disreguard the spot of missing paint in the trunk as it will be shot again and also covered with a trunk mat.

This is project creep at it's best! It always starts with something small....
Can't wait to see color on it.

Awesome build so far. I started on mine simply wanting to get the car into primer so it didn't look so ugly, but looks like we both got bit by the restoration bug! Can't wait to see the car done. I love the late sixties valiants, especailly the front end, just becasue they look so mean. Great color choice. Check mine out some time as I am just behind you in repair, but hope to have mine painted soon!

I was checking yours last night 71sc@MPH and man you guys are quick but mine required a bit more Fab work. I can't wait to see yours done also, that thing is going to be sweet. Thanks everyone else for the kinds words. Dan has done an amazing job especially when you go back and see what we started with.
