Here's the deal, got a complete front suspension from 73 dart. Have a-arms, upper lower v-8 k member and spindles and rotors. Missing calipers and brackets. What calipers and brackets are the easiest to use any years better than others. I need calipers and brackets. Also have 8 3/4 rear for the car with no brakes only backing plates from a 68 dart. I know I need to change axles for 4.5 pattern to match the front. What brakes can I use? Years, sizes for drum brakes? Or should I save money and do a disc conversion? Any ideas any years of parts do you guys recomend? Only running a slant six, will be built for backet racing one day. Thanks and nice to me all of you.

When I did my disc. swap,I got 73 calipers(came with holddown bracket).With my 8 3/4 with moser axels,I bought 10x2 1/2 inch shoes,drums and b.plates from a 97-99 Dakota.Here,s some pics. hope they help(66 Dart,6 cyl.)also swapped M.cyl,proportioning valve.Try Carquest for parts.What year is your car?

Hey, Mr Pettybludart. I'm glad to see a fellow Canadian. It's Roman I got some parts from you last week. Nice to here from you. When you got the new calipers did they come with the caliper brackets? My car is a 72 Scamp.

the easiest are just the stock 73 stuff. bolt on deal. some guys like the volare calipers because the different piston size gives a different pedal feel. i just prefer the standard a-body caliber that cam with the set up

for the rear i usually find a big old c-body and rob the 11" drums off of that. i believe anything brakes from a 8 1/4, 8 3/4 and a dana will fit the big bolt rear. but if ya want disc. http://www.doctordiff.com/ has some decent set ups.

Hey Roman, yes the hold down bracket came with the caliper from carquest.Glad to see you joined the greatest A-bodies site(ranked #1 now)You must have just missed being #9000 on the members list.I e-mailed you earlier!

Hey thanks, the problem is that I don't have any caliper adapter plates that bolt the caliper to the spindle. Calipers not really the issue, I need the brackets. Are the rear drums you used with the Dakota brakes Factory dakota or what kind did you use? I'll have to go a hunting, called a coulpe of places and they said they come with the adapter brackets to mount the caliper as one unit. Is that how yours came? Do you have any pictures of what the calipers look like and what backets came with them? Thanks again.

Roman,If you look at the pic. of front disc. you see the new caliper with the holdown plate.Do you have spindles from a 73-up for your car?You will need proper spindles to bolt the caliper to.Matbe I could drive out and see what your attempting and give assistance?Or send pics. it,s easy!Drums are 73,s

Got Everything for the front. Got a complete v-8 k-member from a 74 with torsion bars, everthing already bolted to it with new moog ball joints upper and lower all the steering arms, new tie rod ends, bushings (was all rebuilt new), shocks and the manual steering pump with new rotors 10.8 and a master. The only thing I didn't get where calipers and the brackets. For the rear 8 3/4 from 68 dart and backing plates. Best was didn't pay anything just traded parts for parts.
