the biggest part of the equation .... [ edit ] is that you have to have the cash in hand to buy. you can't pussyfoot around, you can't be a tire kicker, you can't be a lame-o and play that bs of: oh i need to have it inspected so i can get the rest of the $$ via bank loan.

So good I thought I'd quote it. I've missed a couple of cars over the years because I wasn't ready and set. It taught me to strike quickly when I find something I want, and not regret anything afterwards. It has paid off in Mopars I love and peace of mind.

Well, I want to thank not only you but others as well for wrecking my thread. You guys could screw up a one car junk yard. I don't think that Hollywood could afford my talent, knowledge.
You should talk to Hollywood, and convince them to remake Mr. Rogers neighborhood, you could play the part so well.

I know your way too old to come from the trophy generation and you missed out, I`m so sorry, I offer my condolences, here`s your trophy. I hope it makes you feel better.

Dan, Ive got nothing against you, and have never said a bad word towards you, but you started this thread off like this:

"I'd like to be able to make a few comments on some of the remarks that have been made here towards me, first off I understand work place humor and how the guys act when the women are not around, I've been there done that. But when ever I do post a comment whether I'm wrong or right here comes RRR making his rude disrespectful comments and then a few others join in. Now, I don't mind constructive criticizism. And when I'm wrong and it's pointed out to me that's fine. Guys are going to joke around and I understand that. But when ever it gets out of hand toolmanmike steps in and shuts things down and that's fine, but it seems like I'm aways the fall guy even when it's been started by another member."

That is literally an invitation for others to join in and badmouth you, you know how others like to pick on you, so why give anyone any fodder to do so?
Think before you post man.

I can get inside from the house but I wanted to get a real good photo of the inside of the garage and I can only do that from outside and I'm not going to deal with the snow and cold just to take a stupid picture.
Attached garage, right off the living room. Takes 2 seconds to get out there, 2 more to take a pic. Daily drivers or not, just take a pic and shut em up!

Throw yer hat into this ring Dan, it may blow past your budget, but hey we can dream right?
1968 Dodge Dart GTS 340 Hardtop

That's a nice car for the current bid amount. I call that an investment, you own it for a couple years and decide to sell > you get your investment back out of it. The experience you had with the car is just icing on the cake.

That one will probably go to 20k by the weekend as there are a few days of bidding left before it closes out and gets sold.

GTS and all, I like the Bulge Hoods.

My friend said he would have to get 30k out of this one if he ever parts with it.

Finely detailed and working 100% mint the whole way through. Original paint and body, side stripe was added.

I can honestly say I don't know of any of these cars that still have the original paint and a body that has not been totally reworked.

it's not for sale

Lots of people buy things that are not for sale. Here is another one of these that is an investment.

Holding good value over time. If the economy turns back on now, like it is looking like it will after the changing of the guard. Could even appreciate a bit.

Better than money in the bank not keeping up with inflation.

Got to take a chance once in a while. I would say educated guess.

Bought this '69 Original Satellite 34,000 miles from the original owner, at Mopars in the Park weekend when the banks were closed.

Let's just say it was the most money I ever spent on any car of my entire life.

The owner had it professionally appraised and I thought to myself the value is in the car. With tail lights on the lenses shined like perfect glass, even though they were plastic > that is what sold me on the condition of the overall car.

Offered 1,000 dollars less than the appraisal and we made the deal on Sunday. Transferred funds and picked up the car on Monday.

Did a few upgrades, used the car for a few years along with showing at numerous car shows.

At the end, got my original purchase price back, all the upgrade parts were covered, and a little extra for me, myself, and I, for bringing it all together.

Yeah what a great experience, did not cost me anything to own it, got the money back into the kitty to move on to the next thing.

Guess a person has to know what you are looking at, and what the ultimate plan is for holding the car.

The car did go to a deserving younger man who had one just like it, but rusted out. So that made his day too being able to relive his dream of years gone by.

It was a win for everyone involved.
