I agree, I really need to get one before it's to late
Very seldom do I seek out a particular car and wait for one to come along. I take the opportunistic approach, I see one, I negotiate to my limit, if I get it, fine, but if I don’t, fine too. If I get it, I love it, fix it, drive it, and maybe sell it and start the whole process over. You’re missing out on many happy miles of driving by waiting for the right car to come along. I currently know of at least 2 cars that can be had for a really decent price. This little A body convertible is a solid little car, can probably be had for less than $1500. Put a couple Hundy in to it to tune it up, put fresh fluids in it, and drive it.

The other is a little more $$, but worth every Penny. In the $25k range.

As for picking on you? Don’t sweat it, bud, it’s like a big family here, and I’m sure you know that even family doesn’t always get along with each other. Stick around tho, there’s plenty of folks who consider you a friend here, me included.

I take the opportunistic approach.....................
You kinda have to, since the vintage car population is diminishing, especially Mopars, since there were less of them to begin with. I consider myself VERY fortunate to have found one of the models I was actually looking for.

Agree 100%. I waited almost 30 years to finally get a car I really wanted, the rest all came to me by chance. I have a couple honey holes full of cars to pursue, but as of now, there’s nothing in the hole that is really making me go for it. But, I’ll make every attempt to get one for somebody who really wants one. Lots of good A and B body stuff, and more than a few great trucks.

I’d like to save this pair for someone who wants one, and I’m working on freeing them up.

Glad that you found what you were looking for.

I saw a couple of cars with a digital dash and GPS speedometer, what's the pro and cons of them

exactly this.

the biggest part of the equation that the minivan man doesn't seem to grasp is that you have to have the cash in hand to buy. you can't pussyfoot around, you can't be a tire kicker, you can't be a lame-o and play that bs of: oh i need to have it inspected so i can get the rest of the $$ via bank loan.

you gotta have that stack to lay on the barrel head and you gotta take the big chance and ask the girl to the dance.

i always wanted a 68 dart. i'd been kinda, sorta looking for years. when one presented itself here on the forum i drove 5hrs one way with my cash in hand. i was fully prepared to drive back home empty handed if the car was crap (it wasn't) and made my peace that i was going to pay a little high market on it because, again, when do unmolested complete ca black plate 68 darts come up?

that, fundamentally, is what Dan doesn't get.

well, that and that you have to settle a little bit on some of the criteria. oh, and you can't have champagne tastes on a beer budget.

First off, congratulations on detracting all of the other threads here by making this all about you (once again). We're 4 pages in and I'm picking up a general vibe...

May I please ask you a question? @Dan the man , why are you even on this forum if you don't own an A body, or not even a Mopar? I'm not judging, just curious. I've seen some of your content that leads me to believe you have a decent working knowledge of cars, so what gives?

Also, car guys (and gals) tend to have thick skin, so why do you get offended so easily? You DO realize most of this is just busting your balls, right?

Although it is kind of far, Jim Ward has a decent start to a car for sale. And I think he is coming to Indy Cyl Head swap meet.

I know you guys are. I think it's from the way my dad talked to me growing up, kinda tired hearing it. I do realize that some on here or just kidding and I'm trying not to let it bother me. I couldn't get a decent answer on the digital dash

Digital dash and gps speedos are like any other modifications to vehicles. They can be done correctly and work well or hacked together don’t work for ****. Visually it’s a personal preference type of deal. You won’t know how they were installed till you inspect em.

I'm going to do more research on them as I don't know anything about them

part of that is a communication problem on your end.

you buried this question amidst all this nonsense. if you have posted it as it's own thread topic i'm sure you would've gotten plenty of answers.

turbo mike summed it up pretty well. to that i'll add: for me part of driving an old car is the visceral nature of the beast. the old analog gauges and the wide swept intricate designs of the clusters pleases me. that's just what i prefer.
