What does it look like today?

I skipped ahead... from post 1 to post 126!
Simple. Way back decades go, I bought a Mopar (POS), NO it was not exactly (no where near) what I really wanted, but it gave me untold pleasures making it mine and providing fun and excitement for me. Maybe for other guys, that same project would have proven a bad buy, a money pit, a bucket full of disappointments... but I did something, be it right or wrong.....

A few decades ago, I had a guy, he lived in the city about 2 hours away. He would call me up about every 2 months, hoping I had found him his "dream" 69 RoadRunner. It had to be a certain color, post car, buckets, AC ,certain color interior, right wheels, certain size tires! and it had to run ( not rebuilt), had to be an auto, console, paint had to be fairly good, not perfect, NO rust, interior did not have to be NEW but with no obvious flaws, and he wanted it for a certain price ( not cheap, but close). His list was long and never changed. He called me for about 2 years and I was always polite. Till one day I was ornery. I told him I had exactly what he had been looking for all this time!!! It checked off every box including the price!!!!! But, I told him I had a guy that had made appointment to come see the car in 2 weeks. The guy would even send me a DEPOSIT to hold if I wanted it.

My "guy" simple said. " Wow, just what I been looking for all this time. BUT, he decided he wanted a stick car! " I told him I could make it that. No charge! Just like factory. He said " BUT, it would be original!"

Our last conversation.

I'm changing my list of what I want on a car, in fact there's or was a 1972 red scamp on FB it's a/6 car but it's priced decently, I think it's $13,500 and it's a good candidate for a V/8 swap and if I were to do a V/8 swap it will be a 360. I'm going to be looking back on fb later on today. There's plenty of rusted up junk V/8 cars for a donor car for the brake system and rear end.

I think Dan is on the wrong ship. I got on the junk ship, and love it. I'll let all those guys with number matching "don't touch it!" cars worry themselves sick about one rain drop or finger print.
Me? I just buy the stuff nobody really cares about and play my way. Man is it fun!!!!

I’m with ya. I painted one car in my life and sold it shortly after. Swearing I’d never do it again. It’s the junk ship for me as well.

If I find a car with a/6 I would rather go with a 360. I believe that I could build a 318 to impress but why do that if it's a /6 car

What ship do you think I should be on?

Because you said you could. And I said you couldn’t. Don’t you feel the need to tell me how wrong I am about your skill set?

No disrespect, but you really don't have a clue about my skill set. You guys seem to like to judge a book by its cover.

Why build anything to impress? Just buy something and build it the way YOU want.
I dont know how old you are , but life moves fast and is unpredictable, get something before its too late.
What ship do you think I should be on?
Who cares what others think about what ship you should be on?? Do what makes YOU happy.
You know, Here I sit trying to think of good advice to give you, but @Dartnut said it best in his #41 post, I highly suggest reading it again. Discussion

Dan, if you came on here one day with some pics of a ride you just bought, Im sure a lot of peoples attitudes would change, its a simple as that, but then again, you shouldnt give a crap about what anyone else thinks.
