howdy all! this is driving me crazy,,,, 1985 dodge 1/2 ton 360,,,truck was having issues
stalling, replaced the pick up coil.. truck runs but there was a little stumble off idle, no big
deal. Then we had this massive snow storm and on the drive home from work it ran like
crap, no big deal, mopar ignition and moisture, but it never cleaned up. So I replaced spark plugs, all were black, wires and coil. didn't help, then I replaced cap and rotor and
that helped it a lot. Now when its cool it stumbles and misses til it warmed up then it occasionally stumbles. Just had the pick up coil gap checked and its at .008 .
Any ideas out there?
Thanks in advance
Jim

My guess is you have fixed ignition, now look for carb problem. Black plugs is an indicator for running way to rich, float ot internal fuel leak. How do plugs look now ? Off idle stumble is often related to accelerator squirters not working.

Check choke operation too. If the little vacuum operated pull is faulted /leaking vacuum engine will run way too rich cold and not run right when warmed.
I would look at everything vacuum related including pcv system. Vacuum and rubber hoses are very often the cause of running problems.
