in New Jersey........................

This is a combo of the great, the bad, and the stupid

1--20 year old man has heart attack while driving, causes a wreck

2--cop sees this, and quick work, medical attention, etc, saved his life

3--So the great minds of New Jersey finish up by issuing the guy THREE TRAFFIC TICKETS. He eventually got two tossed out, but still.............

new jersey is screwed up nazi state anyway.

how about the guy that was moving form tx to maine and had all his fire arms in the car with him and decided to stop over night to sleep in the nazi state and got 5 years in prison because of their stupid gun laws and then this a$$hole governor wants to run for president.

What would you say if that guy who was arrested for illegal transportation of guns was part of the Boston terrorist plot and the NJ police just let him go to join the other guys? NJ may have a lot of things screwed up, but there are a lot of screwed up people out there that have decided that laws don't apply to them. Particularly the laws that say all citizens have the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The screwed up people think this should mean that they can go on killing sprees if they want. That's the main reason so many other laws have been passed so that the idiots out there can't claim that they were just pursuing their own happiness by killing others.

In any group of people, there are 2% or so who are screwed up in the head. When the population is sparsely spread, that may mean only 20 screwed up people living in a county (hypothetically speaking). But when you have two million people living in a county, like NJ has (estimated), then you also have 40,000 screwed up people on the loose! That means the police won't be able to keep up with all of them. Then crime rates grow, citizens demand more laws because they want to feel safer, etc... I wouldn't call that situation a police state, but one desperate to keep its "normal" citizens safe.

This is not a lecture, so sorry if it sounds like one. We are screwed up here, but it's more by corrupt politicians stuffing their pockets while in office, and arranging sweetheart deals for all their pals while they have that ability. This has been going on for a long time.

I wonder how other states will fare when they become as densely populated as the northeastern states are? Take a gander at CA?

I've lived in GA, TX, MD, AK, PA, NJ and South Korea. I've visited 49 of our 50 states, Canada, Mexico and many of the Caribean islands too. There are many beautiful places out there and I hope each one of you loves the place you live. Don't trash my adopted state just because you think yours is better. If you don't like NJ, then don't come here.

I once hosted the move of KC-10 aircraft from Barksdale, LA to McGuire AFB, NJ. Many of the crews had never before been to NJ. When they flew in for the first time, many of them thought they were in the wrong place because the base was out in the middle of farmland and their preconceived ideas of NJ were refineries, crowded cities and suburbs. I asked them where they got their ideas of NJ and most of them said from all the jokes about NJ on Saturday Night Live. They were shocked at how rural much of NJ really was and many of them even settled here after their tours were over.

That doesn't mean that we like all of our laws, but there are a lot of great things about and in NJ, thank you.

As for Mr. Christie, he has been a breath of fresh air, finally, of an honest politician in NJ. The US would be much better off with him in the white house for sure.

What would you say if

This is a true news story about a cop, a prosecutor, and a judge who should put in a bag and tossed over whatever'n hell bridge is nearby.

1--The cop who issued these tickets should be yelled at, humiliated by his peers, and fined from his paycheck

2--The prosecutor who brought these charges to court should be off the job, period

3--The judge who threw out only two of these tickets deserves some share of ridicule. PUBLIC ridicule. I'm thinking eggs and tomatoes.

I guess maybe the reason I'm so upset, is this "sort of" happened to me.

I had a "big crash" More than 10 years ago, sideswiped a tractor/ trailer head on, hit the rear trailer axle with my Ford ranger, and knocked the axle loose. I don't remember a thing.

But I DO remember say, 5 miles before the accident, passing by a lake on the way to Mom's and I hadn't been up there in months. I remember looking over the lake, wondering "if that house had been there", things like that. So less than 5 miles and maybe 6 minutes before the wreck, I was NOT sleepy.

Don't remember a thing. But the PROSECUTOR "does." He had a story all made up, hell, according to him, I must have jumped out of bed that day, planning the whole thing, planning to "drive while I was sleepy." Why, I was completely negligent!!!

Worse, a cop either has no brains, is forgetful, or out and out lied. He came into the hospital, I'm all drugged up and half asleep, and wants to know, "what happened." I told him I have no memory of the accident, but that I have asked the Docs and staff, and they say "I may have fallen asleep."

SO HE GETS ON THE STAND and testifies, that "I told him that I fell asleep."

Now, I also had some medical issues at the time, which MAY have contributed, but that gets complicated. The prosecutor didn't want to hear about that, either.

That sucks 67Dart 273! I hate it when any official lies under oath! They suck when they do that!!! I wish I could have straightened that out for you, though I don't have the power to do that for anyone.

There are buttholes in every state, but that doesn't mean the whole state is bad though.

God bless us all and help us overcome all the stupidity out there!
