Don't bother. The older ones with the skinny blades made an uncomfortable noise too....
 
They work very good.......until they break. That's the problem with most flex fans. After many years of use, the blades fatigue, crack, and eventually fly off, potontionally causing all kinds of damage to the hood, inner fenders, radiator, shroud, hoses, etc, even tires!
 
You might look at Summit's nylon fans. They are cheap. I put one on my 65 Dart because it was about all that fit with the later alum water pump I installed (see my avator photo). I also have a fan shroud. I planned to use a fan clutch, but no room.
