Do you wave?

Yes

I also cross streets and parking lot areas perpendicular to the path of cars so I clear the driving area/ street as quickly as possible.

Neighboring Virginia has law requireing a Mandatory stop for pedestrians entering a crosswalk.

Good luck with that
I like walking thru the crowed parking lot to leave an invariably someone will be following me to get my space.
That's why I walk few rows over then cut thru to get my car.
Yep I'm that guy.

That's like a good performance evaluation leadership bullet point:

"Others follow out of curiosity "

On the other hand, I see people just cross right in front without even looking up or around to see it it's safe. Then other idiots walk behind you as you're backing out of your spot. Or try to squeeze past you in their vehicle as I'm half way out.

Yeah like they caint wait ten seconds.

Moved 20 mile to out in the country and you would think we stepped back 40 years in time. Cashiers at the store actually talk to you. Out front mowing the lawn everyone waves going past. So different from the me first attitude just a few miles away!

Yes, I do the courteous wave all of the time whether I am in my car or a pedestrian.

Try this fun game, when you are driving in your car and meet another car driving the opposite way.
Wave a big ''hello'' wave to them and watch them check their mirrors wondering who the hell that was!
Good fun...

When bridge tolls were cheap around here. I would pay for the person behind me.
That always drew a lot of waves and confused looks from whoever was behind me.trying to figure out who I was.

Do you wave at cars that stop for you when you are a pedestrian...

Do you wave at people when you stop for them to cross and you're the motorist

....Psychologists say that waving “thank you” at cars while crossing the street is strongly associated with specific personality traits

I always do. I find it is more of a rural vs urban thing. I even wave to oncoming traffic and when someone lets me into their lane. Costs nothing and lets them know their little act of kindness is appreciated.
