My car with me in it was about 3, 000 lb and I had Hoosier drag slicks and I got about 20 passes? Before the Caps blew off. 489 case brand new gears brand new bearings set up professionally. I was at about 11 5 to 11 7 in a 4-speed car though.

I bet the 4 speed had a lot to do with it.lol

Had to be the four speed and big sticky tires. We know it was not from an overabundance of horsepower.

Yes actually where the automatic transmission holds the pressure against the rear end through the gears the four Speed unloads and loads the gears in every year.

True but automatics can be pretty hard on a rearend too. I did this to a set of Richmond 4.10 gears on my 73 darts 4th pass. Lol
