I wanted to share with you all my new find. I brought it home a couple of days ago. Really wishing I could find an A body this clean. It has some old lady dings here and there. I already pushed the one out. No rust, and has 87K on it. It is a 1978.

After I get my BBD Sport done I am thinking of insuring it. It hasn't been driven in almost 20 years. But some gas and a bit of fresh hose and it fired up. Everything works except one marker light. I drove it around some and it was fun.

I was debating on putting a real engine in it, but I don't know yet. I am too young to have been around when muscle cars regularly roamed the street, but too old to have gotten on the Ricer train (thank goodness)! For now stock will do, but perhaps some type of EFI 4-6 cylinder could be fun.

Maybe some type of modern engine that does not weigh a ton so that I have to cut the whole car up. Not that modifying it has to happen at all.

I am a fan of the early Datsun 510's and this car reminds me of them alot.

Oh, and it came with a bunch of documentation in a bag. Owners manuals and some time of numeric punch card. And a matching spare and car cover.

I'm off to bed. I just wanted to share.:-D

Wow, clean car for a 78. Guys have shoe horned small blocks into them in the past. That would be scary with a 416 stroker in it.

I like it! That car has tons of style. It's so clean and original. Might be good to keep it as is for the mileage, when gas prices go up again.

Great find.
Those Colts are pretty cool cars, especially with a smallblock from Ma mopar.

For some weird reason I have a desire to leave it alone for now. It won't be on the road until mid-summer anyways at the earliest.

I live my life the way of the torch. Fitting since I am a fairly traditional shop teacher. However once I get my 440 Dart Sport done I may decide that I need more acceleration and do something wild with it.

However, I can't believe I am saying this, but it just seems wrong to cut it up.

Now swapping in a light-weight engine and keeping the "feel" of it seems decent.

Regardless, it is fun for now. I have to do some paperwork on it etc. so I won't be driving it for a little while.

cool car I ran across nos parts that I have for a car named Hillman Avenger (i've never heard of one circa 1970)..kinda looks exactly like your colt...

Supposedly they did make some that were turbocharged from the factory. At least I think I read that.

I have fond memories of my childhood when my dad would come home for lunch with some new Mopar product. It reminds me of that time.

Because of my Jeep addiction I find it very exciting to find a car that hasn't been molested by multiple owners.

If you ever spent time around an old Jeep, you will understand.
