Dodge Dart Lite

That doesn't have a rounded top though.
Yea, looks nothing like an original.
The rad for my car would have been a rectangular shaped one anyway.
Not going to spend that much money on this car.
600-700 bucks.

Time to get serious.

Rear brakes look great, I need the backing plates and drums for the 8 3/ swap.
Brake lines look they were made for the 8 3/4, not the 7 1/4.

The fronts are 215/70 R so I want at least a 225 and maybe a 60 profile.
There is a huge wheel well to fill.
Right now just have a 6 inch wide Rallye rim.

Man these 7 1/4 axles are TINY.
I can't believe how little they are.
And that Uncle Tony was using these with welded spiders.
Good thing it never hooked.

Nice passenger side oil seal, should be fine!

Sure is pretty underneath, not.
Still digging out grasses under the body.
That bad oil seal is what killed the 7 1/4.
Ran all the gear oil out and parked it, for 10 or 15 years, PO could not remember.
Rear out and springs.
Tomorrow gas tank and some of the exhaust system.

Got the tank out, not much gas in it, but how it stinks!
I pulled the filler neck to do something with it.
Tons of grass still stuck to the tank pad.

Exhaust system from the head pipe section back removed today.
The head pipe looks to be the oversize system that was a part of the A31 option.
Lots more dirt, dust and grass removed from the rear frame rails also.
I really need to get the doors removed to get the hinges removed.
Not looking forward to removing these heavy doors.

I think some of you think I am kidding about the grass that was growing in this "field" car.
This was under the passenger front kick panel.

mice plant seeds in there?
Have not seen any mouse trails.
I guess 100+ degrees kept them away.
Plus his cat, (that died under the car a few years ago) was a factor.
My son Paul pulled the skeleton out while we were putting the wheels on it.
PO says, oh yea, he died a few years ago.
Paul had to take a break on that comment.

Busy day.
To take the doors off I took the glove box and cluster out.
And since I was in there I just got sick of looking at the dash pad.
Ended up breaking the heater control stuff behind the bezel.
And what a sweat fest!
Doors are off now and I will send the hinges in tomorrow.

Crazy rain down here in Texas, never seen so much rain in June.
So today I had a helper cause he could not go out in the lake that is my backyard.
I was scotchbrite cleaning the rear frame rails and trunk well.
Going to use the rust treatment before I install the rear and gas tank.
It's a little hard to work with a 60 lbs. dog on your chest.

Getting the 8 3/4 ready.
I pulled the axles and backing plates.
I was worried that there was rust inside the rear.
Everything came out looking great.
