Dodge Dart Lite

Crazy rain down here in Texas, never seen so much rain in June.
So today I had a helper cause he could not go out in the lake that is my backyard.
I was scotchbrite cleaning the rear frame rails and trunk well.
Going to use the rust treatment before I install the rear and gas tank.
It's a little hard to work with a 60 lbs. dog on your chest.

That's a beautiful dog

I got the 8 3/4 clean and rust treated.
Gear oil out.
Now to clean the backing plates, paint springs and rear.
Then jam it back in!

I was pretty sure I was going to be filing a claim with Classic when some of my parts showed up.

Notice the shoe print.
Somehow they missed crushing the gas tank sending unit.
And of course there was more grass to find and remove.

Flushing Fuel line and Vent line today.
Starting to put the grill in and line everything up.
Looking for misplaced parts!

I am just glad it did not crush my sending unit.
I know stuff happens but walking on packages?
That is USPS stuff.

I ordered my brake parts from napa.
No mention of country of origin on order pages.
I was hoping napa would have some US parts.
Nope, all chinesium.

Today is one step forward and 6 back.
The forward was I found at the auto parts store an assortment of plastic locking clips.
I was missing one for the grill hood latch.
Darker one is the Dodge, white is the Dorman.
It says ford or chebby, but f-them!
So If you need a smaller than door lock rod locking clip maybe this set will help you out.

Now for the backing up part.
This is a far as I got today.
I am putting stuff on and I knew I only had one Parking Brake Strut Rod.
That is all the PO had assembled the last time they did brake work.
So I look through my parts boxes, one 11 inch strut.
And the one the PO left was a 9 inch units.
Thank goodness Classic has them. I hit up my NOS sources and NFG.

More PO work.
Here are the 2 parking brake levers.
If the Non-Mopar one is marked with a code date, 6 76, that is 3 months after the car was made.
But looking again, I think that is the last 3 of the stamped number 629.
And maybe omitted the struts.
Maybe there is another reason, I just don't know.
Oh well, back to the blast cabinet.
