Im working on mini tubbing my Barracuda. I have 15" of space from the lip on the 1/4 to the frame rail I plan on running a 13" tire.

There is 5" from the face of the drum to the quarter lip and 10" from the front of the drum to the frame rail. So with those measurements if I runa 10" rim I would need the backspacing to be 75% of the rims width or 7.5" to center the rim in the wheel well.

Or I can shorten the rear by 2.5" to center it in the wheel well and run a 5" back spacing on a 10" rim.

I hate math, it makes my head hurt.

It sounds right to me. You also have to remember though that the tire will most likely hit above the wheel lip first because the inside of the outside wheelwell goes in as it goes up, while the inside of the wheelwell goes straight up mostly. It's hard to explain. I'm not familiar with cuda wheelwell, but I would drop a plumbob from about 2 or 3 inches up from the outside wheel lip and use that measurement. I'd get the 5 pount sledge out too and bash that surface towards the outside skin also.

Here's a picture of the area I'm talkin about:

I know what your talking about. Im only running a 28" tall tire though so I dont think it will be a problem even after I lower it a little. I'll take a look thoug and do some beating now if I have to.

I've got a 66 Dart. I'm having the rearends cut right now actually. The rims are 15x10 with a 4.5"backspace. The rear is 51 1/8" drum to drum. Tires are 325/50/15. I moved the rear back an inch also. When its done and ready for the track, I'm going to try to stuff a 30 incher in there. These 325/50s are too short for my liking. I also think you'll have plenty of room for your tires. Just beat the inside of the well out a bit. No one will ever know. Just by beating in the lip, you gain about 3/4". Your car's gonna look slick when it's done.

Here's a link to some photos if you're interested.

Thats right, I remember you askingf me about tires. Im going to end up running the same size, already had them in there, I just want to move them in a little bit and tuck them in nicely. I also was running to narrow of a rim before.
